(1896–1948)
In addition to collecting sound recordings of Mongolian folk singing and musical instruments (e.g., The Music of the Mongols, 1943) during his five expeditions to Central Asia, Haslund-Christensen was a founder of the Danish Expedition Foundation (1945) and provided valuable ethnographic information on Mongolian shamanism in his classic of travel literature, Mongolian Adventure: 1920s Danger and Escape among the Mounted Nomads of Central Asia (2001).
